Calorie tracker for the keto diet
Keto demands precise carb tracking — under 20–50g net carbs per day to maintain ketosis. The traditional approach is exhausting: read every label, calculate net carbs by hand, ignore hidden carbs in sauces.
CalPilot reads net carbs directly from photos, voice, or barcode. Hidden carbs in restaurant meals (sauces, breading, dressings) are flagged automatically.
Why tracking actually helps here
- Ketosis breaks at 50g+ carbs/day for most people; precision matters
- Net carbs (total - fiber - certain sugar alcohols) is the right metric
- Hidden carbs in sauces, dressings, and breading are the most common ketosis breakers
- Protein needs to stay moderate (~0.7g/lb) — too high pushes you out of ketosis
- Electrolytes (sodium, potassium, magnesium) need active management on keto
How CalPilot helps
Net carb prominence
Net carbs displayed first on every food, every meal. Total carbs and fiber as secondary detail.
Hidden carb warnings
Restaurant meals are scanned for likely hidden carbs (sweet sauces, battered proteins, etc.) and flagged before you log.
Ketogenic ratio tracking
Daily ratio of fat to (protein + carbs) — keto-specific metric showing how deep into ketosis your day will run.
Electrolyte tracking
Sodium, potassium, magnesium tracked daily. Most keto issues (fatigue, headache, leg cramps) are electrolyte-driven, not carb-driven.

Tips that actually help
Track hidden carbs harder than visible ones
Visible carbs (rice, bread) you'll skip naturally. The keto-killers are sauces, marinades, "sugar-free" desserts with maltitol, and surprise carbs in deli meats.
Don't fear protein
Adequate protein (0.7g/lb) doesn't kick you out of keto for most people. The 'too much protein breaks keto' fear is largely overblown for non-bodybuilders.
