The plain-language version

• AskCalories is a tool for tracking calories and macros — not a medical device.
• Don't try to break, scrape, or abuse the service.
• You own your data; we have a license to process it to provide the service.
• Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date.

1. Service

AskCalories provides AI-assisted calorie and macro tracking via mobile apps and this website. Features may evolve over time.

2. Not medical advice

Information in AskCalories is for general fitness and nutrition awareness. It is not medical advice and not a substitute for professional medical guidance. Consult your doctor before significant dietary changes, especially if you have a medical condition.

3. Accounts

You're responsible for protecting your account. Don't share credentials. Notify us if you suspect unauthorized access.

4. Acceptable use

Don't:

• Reverse engineer, scrape, or copy the app
• Submit content that infringes others' rights
• Use AskCalories for spam or illegal purposes
• Attempt to bypass usage limits or paywalls

5. Subscriptions

Available plans, billing periods, prices, and included usage are shown by Apple App Store or Google Play in the app before purchase. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled through your platform's subscription settings.

6. Refunds

Refunds are handled by Apple and Google per their policies. We can advocate on your behalf but don't process refunds directly.

7. Intellectual property

AskCalories (the app, brand, code, and design) is ours. Content you submit, including meal descriptions and photos, remains yours. By using the service, you grant us a limited license to process and store it to provide the service.

8. AI-generated estimates

Our AI estimates calories and macros from photos and meal descriptions. Estimates have inherent uncertainty and may be materially wrong. Review each result before saving. Never use AskCalories estimates for medication or insulin dosing.

9. Termination

Either of us can terminate the relationship anytime. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. The app does not currently include an account-deletion control; email privacy@nextdio.com to request deletion.

10. Disclaimers

AskCalories is provided "as is" without warranties. We make best efforts to keep the service accurate and available but can't guarantee uninterrupted operation or perfect accuracy.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you've paid in the 12 months preceding the claim.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles.
