Ingredients

  • Flank steak 8 oz, thinly sliced
  • Broccoli florets 3 cups
  • Garlic 3 cloves, minced
  • Ginger 1 tbsp grated
  • Soy sauce 3 tbsp
  • Brown sugar 1 tbsp
  • Cornstarch 1 tsp
  • Sesame oil 1 tsp
  • Vegetable oil 1 tbsp
  • Cooked white rice 1.5 cups (for serving)

Steps

  1. 1 Whisk soy sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch, sesame oil in a small bowl.
  2. 2 Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat.
  3. 3 Add beef in a single layer. Sear 60 seconds, flip, sear 30 seconds. Remove.
  4. 4 Add broccoli and 2 tbsp water. Cover and steam 2 minutes.
  5. 5 Uncover. Add garlic and ginger. Stir-fry 30 seconds.
  6. 6 Add beef back. Pour sauce. Toss until thickened (~1 minute).
  7. 7 Serve over rice.
Tips

Slice beef across the grain for tenderness. Freeze 30 minutes before slicing for cleaner cuts.
