Ingredients
- Flank steak 8 oz, thinly sliced
- Broccoli florets 3 cups
- Garlic 3 cloves, minced
- Ginger 1 tbsp grated
- Soy sauce 3 tbsp
- Brown sugar 1 tbsp
- Cornstarch 1 tsp
- Sesame oil 1 tsp
- Vegetable oil 1 tbsp
- Cooked white rice 1.5 cups (for serving)
Steps
- 1 Whisk soy sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch, sesame oil in a small bowl.
- 2 Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat.
- 3 Add beef in a single layer. Sear 60 seconds, flip, sear 30 seconds. Remove.
- 4 Add broccoli and 2 tbsp water. Cover and steam 2 minutes.
- 5 Uncover. Add garlic and ginger. Stir-fry 30 seconds.
- 6 Add beef back. Pour sauce. Toss until thickened (~1 minute).
- 7 Serve over rice.
Slice beef across the grain for tenderness. Freeze 30 minutes before slicing for cleaner cuts.
